Kotoko head coach Prosper Ogum Narteh has pinned their home defeat against Hearts of Lions to tiredness.

Kotoko shockingly lost in a game they were hotly tipped to win the game on the back of their midweek outstanding slump against Legon Cities at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

Coach Ogum Narteh named Mohammed Camara in between the sticks, Kyei Dwamena for Samuel Tenedu and a number of changes in the course of the game but all failed to materialize into a win.

Speaking in his post-match interview, he attributed his team’s loss to tiredness from extensive travels in the past few days.

I think we looked slow, I think the stress of the journey, from Kumasi to Anyinase was about 9 hours, we played on Sunday, traveled for 9 hours to Accra to play on Wednesday against Legon Cities, and back to Kumasi. It’s been three games in 7 days and you could see that they were tired”. He ended.

This loss represents the Porcupine Warriors first home defeat as well as their second consecutive loss in two games.

They have an opportunity to redeem themselves against Bechem United at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.
