    Pink Ladies Cup : Black Queens slay Russia

    The Black Queens of Ghana made light work of Russia in the second game of the ongoing Pink Ladies Cup at the Al-Hamriyah Sports Club Stadium, UAE.



    Coach Kim made five changes to the lineup that beat Hong Kong in the first game. He named Cynthia Konlan in the post, Portia (C)
,Susan, Josephine, and  Benedicte
as the backline, Jennifer
and Asantewaa
as the midfield combo,  Alice, Chaney, and Stella
 as the attacking trio, with Doris Boaduwaa leading the lines.

    Stella Nyamekye, making her return to the squad in her first start, ensured that she made her presence felt as she coolly slotted a well-weighted pass from Doris Boaduwaa for the opening goal.
    Doris Boaduwaa scored a brace in the 17th and 35th minute respectively to give the team a three-goals cushioning to end the first half.
    Chantelle Boye drew out an impressive save from the Russian goalkeeper, resulting in a corner five minutes after ecess.

    Patience Ajegipena was subbed on for two-goal heroine Doris Boaduwaa on the half-hour mark.
    Russia nearly pulled one back, but Cynthia expertly tipped over to keep her cleansheet in tact.
    Ajegipena nearly scored her second goal of the tournament, but her effort was inches from the post with thirteen minutes to end the game.
    Stella made her way out for Sharon Simpson to make her debut on the 87th minute mark.

    Two minutes to end proceedings, Zakaria Ajegipena made it four for the day. Her second in the tournament.
    The Queens ensured that they ended the game on a high note over their Russian sisters.
    They will play East African opposition Tanzania in the last group fixture.
