Otto Addo has recounted his time as head coach of the Black Stars.
The former head coach’s stint ran from 15 March 2024 to 31 March 2026, when he was sacked following a 2-1 friendly defeat to Germany.

According to him, there was a lot of tension between himself and FA officials during his time as Black Stars coach.
“I was in Ghana for two years as coach. There was, of course, a lot of back-and-forth between me and our federation president, and the board too. It just felt like I could’ve been kicked out after just one month.”
The 51-year-old was the first Ghanaian to qualify Ghana to two World Cups but was sacked with just three months before the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

During his second stint, he oversaw 22 matches, managing eight wins, five draws and nine defeats — a modest 36.4 per cent win rate, stats that did not help his course to be retained as the head coach.
