OFFICIAL: Kosta Papic quits Hearts of Oak

Hearts of Oak head coach Kostadin Papic has ended over two and half months association with the former continental champions Accra Hearts of Oak on Monday, 15, February 2020.

Papic took over the head coach reigns from the then-interim coach, Edward Nii Odoom in efforts to salvage the dwindling fortunes of the capital-based club.

The 60-year-old oversaw 10 games following his appointment in November 2020, where he won four, drew three, and lost three.

Sources close to the Serbian, indicate that his resignation from the club was due to a bumper deal he had received from an unnamed Tanzanian club which is said to have lured him.

His assistant, Joseph Asare Bediako also resigned from his post last week citing personal reasons.

However, Accra Hearts of Oak are set to appoint former player, Yaw Preko, who knows the club through and through and was recently stop-gap coach for Olympics during the absence of Annor Walker.
