We are not ready for Ghana Premier League – Amb. Kabral Blay

Former Kotoko Board member Kabral Blay-Amihere has suggested that Ghana football is not ready to resume across all levels.

According to Mr. Blay-Amihere, the safety protocols that have been instituted to curb the widespread of the virus in the country have not been fully adhered to by citizens.

In an interview on radio with Asempa FM, he however advised the Ghana Football Association not to rush into restarting the league despite the incessant pressure it’s facing from sponsors and other partners but rather ensure that safety measure are initiated to ensure that lives are protected and preserved.

“There is no seriousness on protocol measures put in place before we start the pending league and I think we are not ready to continue it,

Those countries who have started football are obeying the COVID-19 protocols. If the country (Ghana) wants to start the league, they should learn to implement the proper measures before starting the league.

The safety of the players is overlooked which will be a disaster if we continue it,” he ended.

Ghana Football Association will tomorrow June, 30 make a definite decision on the state of the Ghana Premier League and other leagues well.
