    Kotoko beat Division One side Golden Kick FC by 2-1 to win the MTN FA Cup for a record tenth time on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

     



    Kwame Opoku last gasp controversial penalty was enough to settle the tie between the two clubs on the night.

    Kwame Opoku headed home an Albert Amoah corner kick in the 16th minute to send the travelling Porcupine Warriors fans into a frenzy,
    But on the 33rd minute Bless Ege had other ideas as he stepped up to convert a beautiful freekick from 25-yards to draw the game level,  1-1.

    MATCH HIGHLIGHTS : 

    The second half saw both teams probe each other with lots of attacking intensity but it was the Reds who were controversially awarded a penalty.
    Kwame Opoku elected himself for the penalty kick  and calmly the winner of the game.

    MEDAL PRESENTATION :

    The win signals Kotoko’s first triumph in the FA Cup in eight years and qualification to the CAF Confederation Cup for the 2025/26 season.
