Dreams FC pipped King Faisal to the MTN FA Cup 2022/23 trophy at the Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese.

The duo defied the odds to get to the finals of the competition and were looking to walk home with the coveted trophy of the day.

The Dawu-based club made the most of the suspense pressure of football, Aziz Issah shot them into an early lead through a magical solo effort on the 20th-minute mark to send the traveling fans into ruptures,1-0.

The two sides gave it their best shot as the game wore on, the intensity levels rose with a few tackles flying in Collins Boah was yellow carded in the 35th minute.

Four minutes later, King Faisal’s Benjamin Bature’s shot nearly hit the back of the net but goalkeeper, Solomon Agbasi’s was equal to the task.

Dream FC held on to their solitary lead into halftime,

Ibrahim Dede was a thorn in the flesh of the King Faisal backline as his shot whizzed away from getting them the second goal of the game.

Godfred Atuahene made an introduction in the 58th minute for Ali Huzaf as he combined effortlessly with Agyenim Boateng but their effort missed the post by inches.

In the 67th minute, coach Karim Zito replaced Emmanuel Agyei for Sadiq Alhassan which paid huge dividends instantly, he got the second goal of the game.

The Still Believe bagged the MTN FA Cup trophy for the first time in the club’s history to assuage their troubling campaign.
