Kotoko recorded a 2-0 victory over Legon Cities at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in game week twenty-nine of the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

Fresh from their away draw at the Tarkwa against Medeama SC, the host were on the lookout for an improved performance in their home duel.

Under fire manager, Prosper Ogun Narteh ranged three changes to his starting line from last weekend, center back Henry Ansu, Justice Blay, and Shadrack Addo missed out on the starting lineup.

The host asserted the superiority in the game right from the blast of the whistle, their relentless effort probing at goal paid off as they were awarded a penalty eleven minutes to end the first half. Uganda import, Stephen Mukwala concerted to break the deadlock for the Porcupine Warriors.

Four minutes after the second half resumed, defender Nurudeen Yussif Mohammed poked in the second goal after Mukwala controlled the ball with his chest for him to net the game’s second for the host.

However, the beauty of the game was marred by both teams wearing similar sets of jersey colors, red for the home and orange for the away kit which looked very identical and hard to distinguish for the neutrals.

The win sees Kotoko, 10th on the log, traveling away to Berekum Chelsea for the next fixture of the league, Legon Cities, 11th with  38 points will be at home to Dreams FC after honoring their MTN FA Cup duel against Maxwell Konadu’s Nsoatreman FC sandwiched in between.
