MISUGHA officially inaugurates Volta Regional Chapter, pledges expansion across the region
The Millennium Supporters Union of Ghana (MISUGHA) has officially inaugurated its Volta Regional Chapter in a vibrant and historic ceremony held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the auditorium of Mawuli Senior High School in Ho. The event, marked by energy, unity, and powerful displays of passion for Ghana football, brought together supporters, executives, and key stakeholders from across the country.
Ahead of the main inauguration, two branches were also successfully launched on the same day. The first was the Ho Asogli Branch, inaugurated at the revered Asogli Palace, while the Ho Branch followed at the Mawuli Senior High School auditorium. The dual inaugurations set the tone for what turned out to be a memorable day for supporters in the region.
The occasion attracted top dignitaries and football stakeholders, including MISUGHA National President Abubakar Dawud, Founder of MISUGHA and President of the Ghana Supporters Union, Alhaji Issaka Polo 4040, Member of Parliament for Ho Central Richmond Edem Kofi Kpotosu, and National Coordinator of the Ghana Supporters Union Alhaji Guntu. Several regional executives and supporters also graced the colorful gathering, demonstrating strong national support for the Volta chapter.
The newly inaugurated Volta Regional Chapter will be co-chaired by Madam Aku-Sika Kpene, who currently serves as Welfare Officer of Cabfix Ladies FC, and Madam Dorothy Akpene Aheto. In her address, Madam Aku-Sika Kpene highlighted the immense contribution of the Volta Region to sports development in Ghana. She expressed deep appreciation to all stakeholders and assured the gathering of plans to expand MISUGHA’s presence through the establishment of more branches across the region.
Adding her voice, Dorothy Akpene Aheto thanked all dignitaries, supporters, and partners for their unwavering commitment and wished everyone a safe journey back to their various destinations.
National President Abubakar Dawud praised the Volta Region for its uniqueness, strong unity, and exceptional dedication to the supporters’ movement. He also extended special gratitude to Mr. William Donwill, owner of Donwill Hotel, for his immense contribution towards ensuring a peaceful and successful programme.
The National Patron of MISUGHA, Clemence Adonu, who also doubles as Deputy CEO of African Village, delivered words of encouragement and guidance to the executives. He urged them to remain united, disciplined, and committed to the growth of supporters’ culture in Ghana.
The ceremony was characterized by electrifying jama sessions, traditional displays, and moments of camaraderie, reflecting the passion and vibrant spirit of Ghanaian football supporters. The successful inauguration marks a significant step in strengthening supporters’ organization and promoting football unity in the Volta Region and beyond.
Defending champions Medeama SC will be at home to Swedru All Blacks at the TNA Stadium in Tarkwa.
The home team has been excellent at home, winning all four of its games while scoring nine and conceding just two, which makes them a formidable side at home.
They are returning home following a 1-1 draw with Asante Kotoko in Kumasi.
The Black Magicians were on a three-match winning run, but it came to a crashing halt following a 2-1 loss to AshantiGold last weekend.
They would hope to give a good account of themselves in Tarkwa.
Prediction: Medeama SC 2-0 Swedru All Blacks
Bibiani Gold Stars will host Aduana Stars at Dun’s Park in Bibiani.
Both teams are at opposite ends of the league table.
The Miners have struggled for consistency in the league so far, so it is hardly surprising that they occupy 15th spot with 10 points, just above the relegation zone – quite unusual for a former league champion.
Aduana have picked three wins from five games in the league.
Their most recent win was against the regional rivals, Berekum Chelsea through an Amankona brace.
They will hoping to repeat the dosage against a difficult opponent, Goldstars.
Bar Hearts of Oak, they are the second best defensive side in the league, with just 5 goals conceded.
Prediction: Gold Stars 2-1 Aduana Stars
Golden City Park will witness one of the weekend’s top fixtures between Berekum Chelsea and Kotoko in week ten of the 2026/7 Ghana Premier League.
Berekum Chelsea have endured a torrid campaign so far, having secured just three wins from nine games in the lead-up to their clash against the Porcupine Warriors.
They lost to Aduana Stars last weekend and will need to step up against the Kumasi-based club, who are coming to town for what promises to be a cliffhanger.
They sit 11th with 11 points from nine games, scoring 10 and conceding 11.
Meanwhile, the former champions have underwhelmed this season.
They have gathered 13 points from nine games, scoring and conceding 10 goals apiece.
The Porcupine Warriors are still seeking consistency, which will make this a dicey game at Golden City Park.
Prediction: Berekum Chelsea 1-1 Asante Kotoko
The battle of the two Hearts will come off at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
The two teams have endured contrasting fortunes since the start of the season.
The home team surprisingly lost to newly promoted Debibi United last weekend, ending a four-match unbeaten run.
They boast the league’s best defensive record (only 3 goals conceded) and an outstanding home record—unbeaten at the UG Stadium this season (3 wins, 1 draw, and zero goals conceded).
This is a feat Coach Nebojsa Kapor will be hoping to protect, preserve, and continue against familiar foes.
Meanwhile, Heart of Lions arrive with renewed confidence after a 2-1 win over Bechem United that ended a three-game losing streak.
They are more open and higher-scoring than Hearts, but less consistent defensively.
This game has all to play for both teams looking to get a bit of the Premier League .
