Medeama announce partnership with USA-based International Development Academy (IDA).

Ghanaian champions Medeama have entered into a partnership agreement with the International Development Academy (IDA) to provide educational and career pathways for the club’s youth players on a global scale.

The America-based organization announced this groundbreaking partnership with the Ghanaian side on Monday evening, marking IDA’s first collaboration with a fully professional club and making Medeama its official and exclusive partner in Ghana.

The partnership aims to offer Medeama’s academy players access to advanced training and competition opportunities in Europe, as well as direct pathways into European academies and the US collegiate system.

It also seeks to enhance Medeama’s global brand presence through participation in high-level youth tournaments, the establishment of IDA and Medeama talent identification clinics in various locations, and international tours for both academy and senior players.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with such an ambitious and forward-thinking club,” stated Director of Camps and Short-Term Programmes at IDA, Ben Poulton.”

“Ghanaian football has a storied history, and the opportunity to work with Medeama to ensure the next generation of players has further opportunities for success is incredibly exciting.”

Medeama president Moses Armah expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, saying, “We are excited about the opportunity to work with IDA in the coming years.”

“We wish for the best of luck and a flourishing partnership that extends our deal further. We are extremely grateful to IDA for this opportunity and the accomplishments it will bring.”

As part of this collaboration, Medeama’s academy team is set to participate in the Surf Cup International in Morocco this summer.

Despite their relatively short history in Ghana’s top-flight league, Medeama has won the FA Cup twice, defeating traditional giants Asante Kotoko on both occasions.

The club, based in Tarkwa, a renowned gold mining area in Ghana, has also represented the country twice in the CAF Confederation Cup, achieving notable success.

Medeama’s principles of cooperation, trust, humility, discipline, effort, and loyalty have contributed to their success, earning them recognition as one of Ghana’s most disciplined teams, including winning the Fair Play Award during the 2014/15 Ghana FA/Premier League Board gala
