Hearts of Oak startled yet again at home in a league game they were tipped to win against FC Samartex in week six of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.

The Phobians had their game in week five against Hearts of Lions annulled as a result of the Akosombo Dam spillage.

Coach Martin Koopman picked a squad captained by Abdul Nurudeen Aziz, Kofi Agbesimah, Osei Asibey, Michael Ampadu, and Dennis Korsah forming the fulcrum of the backline with players like Hamza Isaah, and Martin Karikari ahead in attack.

The Phobia’s first real shot on target came in the 24th minute of the game through, Martin Karikari, which was wide off the Samartex post.

The second half saw the Phobia coach ring in several changes, Martin Karikari, Seidu Suraj, Nurudeen Aziz, and Eric Esso subbed off for Ibrahim Salifu, Wanet Ramos, Linda Mtange, Glid Otanga coming on in the 65th, and 84th minute respectively.

Samartex were disciplined with their on and off-the-ball movement which frustrated the attack of Hearts of Oak for the entirety of the game.

The draw lifts Samartex to the summit of the table momentarily with other game six fixtures to come up on Sunday.

The draw sees, the host with five points from five games as they prepare for their away clash to Bibiani to face GoldStars.
