A last-gasp Richard Danso header was enough to save the blushes of newly promoted Ghana Premier League side, Nations FC against Accra Hearts of Oak at the Abrankese Park on Saturday.

The host was coming into this game on the back of basking in five consecutive wins against, Hearts of Lions, GoldStars from Bibiani, Karela United, Accra Lions, and Aduana Stars and conceding just a single goal within that period.

The visitors, on the other hand, have had a rather tumultuous campaign, with a single win in their last seven outings which came against Accra Lions.

Head Coach, Kassim Mingle fielded a rather strong lineup, Emmanuel Boahene, Nafiu Sulemana, Barima Baah, Michael Awuah, Japheth Norvienyo, Sadiq Alhassan.

Hearts of Oak took an early lead in the seventh minute after some intricate passing from Kofi Agbesimah, and Dennis Korsah which saw Linda Mtange teed up Seidu Suraj, whose initial effort was dealt with but the hardworking Hamza Issah recover the ball to shoot one past goalkeeper, Japheth Norvienyo.

Kwame Baah thought he had drawn his side leveled but the goal was rightly ruled out for offside in the 37th minute.

The away side introduced some fresh legs into the game, Esso, Baafi, and Winimi came on for Suraj, Osei Asibey, and Asubonteng in the 64th minute of the game.

Richmond Ayi pulled off some fantastic saves in the game to deny the host from equalizer but luck eluded him as he failed to keep out Richard Danso’s late header in the 94th minute of the game.

Nations FC will be the happier of the two as they managed to stretch their unbeaten run at home to eight games, while Hearts will still soldier on for their second win on the road.
