    Asante Kotoko and Karela United played a 1-1 draw at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in the ongoing betPawa Premier League.



    On the back of beating relegated, Kotoku Royals away from home, the host were looking to continue their fine streak of form as they took on coach Ibrahim Shaibu’s side in Kumasi.

    The host took the lead via an own goal from Mohammed Rashid in the 29th minute of the game, which they held on to the end of the first half.

    Coach Abdul Gazelle effected changes in the second half to solidify his lead in the game, taking off Morrison Enock, Richard Boadu, and Blay Justice for Tedeku John, Richard Boadu, and Zeze Steven in the 66th minute of the game.



    In the 75th minute of the game, Emmanuel Boakye Owusu, wriggled his way past two Kotoko players in the penalty box only to cut back for Mohammed Fatawu to hit a ferocious shot beyond, Fredrick Asare in post for Kotoko.

    The draw sees the Porcupine Warriors up to fourth on the log with 48 points, while the away side is rooted 16th with two games against Bibiani GoldStars and Kotoku Royals to save their fortunes of staying in the league for a further season.
