Match Review : Hamza Issah rescues Hearts of Oak from Karela United claws

Karela United had to settle for yet another draw at home as they shared the spoils with Accra Hearts of Oak in game week nine of the Ghana Premier League at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.

Emmanuel Owusu Boakye headed the host in front as early as the sixth minute of the game to send the home fans into ruptures cheers and jeers much to the disappointment of the away side who were barely settled in the game.

The next wave of attack was from the visitors, Kashala Ramos had a dig at goal but his solo effort was dealt with by Karela goalkeeper, Abdul Ganiu.

Kevin Osei Asibey and Hamza Issah attempted an equalizer but a resolute Karela United defence thwarted their efforts.

A lovely whip from Salifu Ibrahim from the corner was headed in by the club’s top goal scorer, Hamza Issah to unsettle the nerves of the Phobians.

The second half saw the duo clubs have a go at each other but it was the host that failed to make it count the most.

Emmanuel Owusu Boakye shot wide from close range after Fatawu Mohammed’s corner kick was poorly parried by Hearts of Oak, goalkeeper, Richmond Ayi in his path.

Hearts of Oak will be the happier of the two sides after they picked their second point away from home while Karela United’s dismal home form continued, their fourth draw in four games.

The Pride and Passion boys will travel down south to face off with Accra Lions whiles, the Phobians will travel away to Hohoe to face off against Kpando Hearst of Lions in their outstanding league five fixture.
