    Samartex inflicted more pain on Kotoko at the Nsenkyire Sports Complex when the pair met in game week ten of the ongoing 2023/24 Ghana Premier League. 

     



    The hosts were looking to forget the midweek loss they suffered at the hands of Berekum Chelsea.

    Their lineups featured the likes of, goalkeeper, Kofi Baah, Emmanuel Mamah, Samuel Mensah, Evans Osei Wusu, Emmanuel Keyekeh, and others.

    Meanwhile, Prosper Ogun Narteh after their recent press conference following the loss to Dreams FC, opined that the senior players were unwilling to go the extra mile to give off their best and were acting all political in the dressing room fielded a relatively mixed squad of youth and experience. 

    The early exchanges of the game were tense, it was least surprising that tackles started flying in from both sides, Osei Wusu and Emmanuel Keyekeh were the first to be booked for the host between the 23rd and 29th minute not later than a minute, Augustine Agyapong found himself booked for the away side,

    Former Kotoko midfield gem, Emmanuel Keyekeh’s stunning free-kick beat the helpless, Danlad Ibrahim in post for Kotoko on the 31st-minute mark. 

    The second half saw a host of changes, Richmond Darko, and Emmanuel Mammah were taken off for Ebenezer Ocran and Francis Gyetuh.

    George Mfegue and Andrews Ntim were subbed off for Isaac Opong, and Rocky Dwamena to help the away side restore parity but all efforts proved futile. 

    The loss marked Samartex’s impressive home streak, their fifth in six games while Kotoko has suffered their third consecutive loss in the league.

    Kotoko will be at home to Medeama whites Samartex will travel to the capital to play Great Olympics.
