    Samartex and Kotoko played out a 1-1 draw at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena on Saturday.



    The two teams went at each other with every muscle of armory in attack but in the end they both settled for a point apiece.

    The defending champions Samartex unbeaten in their last six outing tested the current table toppers, Kotoko by opening the scoring through, Dramani Awuah on the 39th minute to set the tone of the game.

    The Porcupine Warriors bruised at the thought of going behind at the break recovered strongly after he recess with a wave of constant attacks on their host.

    Three minutes after the break, red-hot, Kwame Opoku coolly finished off a brilliant attacking move from the visitors. His six in seven games for the club after he returned from Morocco with  Khouribga.

     The forward scored what nearly became the second goal of the game but was ruled out as offside, denying him a brace.

    Kotoko will be happiest of the two after the game run its course cementing their status in the league log with 38 points. Their closest contest GoldStars lost to Aduana Stars.

    The timber boys will host regional rivals, Medeama SC in midweek whiles Kotoko will travel down south to Young Apostles.
