A first-half penalty from Berekum Chelsea’s Stephen Amankonah was enough to unsettle Nations FC at the Dr.Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.

The results bring an end to their over twenty-game unbeaten home run since gaining promotion to the Ghana Premier League some two seasons ago.

The home side came into the game with unrivaled bundles of confidence having gone on a four-match winning streak, with eight goals scored and none conceded.

Razak Simpson was slotted straight into action after his impressive outing with the BlackStars in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Angola and Niger but that didn’t deter Berekum Chelsea from inflicting pain where it hurt the most on the host.

Penalty expert, Stephen Amankona stepped up to convert a penalty for the away side on the 18th-minute mark.

The host side troubled their nemesis with a plethora of chances to equalize but none failed to hit the back of the net.

The loss sees, Nations FC cede their position at the summit to GoldStars, who beat Vision FC at home.

Meanwhile, the win alleviates the teeming pressure on coach Samuel Boadu, whose side was winless in four games in the lead-up to this crunch encounter at the Abrankese.
