    Legon Cities basked a win over Asante Kotoko in a thrilling outstanding fixture of game week 6 of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

     



    The Royals winless in six games are looking to get their campaign running and what better way to get their season back on the wheels than with a a victory over the Porcupine Warriors?

    Nasiru Sumaila capitalized on Justice Blay’s defensive frailties as he teed up teammate Albert Yeboah, who beautifully slotted a teasing shot past Fred Asare in post for the Kotoko. 1-0 to the host.  

    Redhot forward, Albert Amoah was on hand to restore parity for his side through a penalty in the 76th minute to set the tone for the game’s final quarter.

    The Porcupine Warriors troubled the host with incessant pressure and attacks, but goalkeeper Kwame Aziz was excellent in keeping them at bay.

    In stoppage time, Legon Cities went on one last attack which allowed Abdul Rhaman on goal to score past Fred Asare at the near post. 2-1 to the home side.

    Legon Cities having picked their first win will look to build on it as they play Young Apostles while Kotoko will be at the Obuasi Ley Clay Stadium and play Hearts of Lions on November 3, 2024.
