It was all joy for Kotoko as they marked their round thirty-one game with a massive home win against Dreams FC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The game had a lot of history riding on it as the now head coach of Kotoko, Karim Zito, matched up against his former employers in a game both teams were looking to pick up wins.

Albert Amoah scored the opener for the Porcupine Warriors right on the 17th minute mark, sending the home fans into ruptured cheers.

His striker partner, Kwame Opoku, pinned his name on the scoresheet with five minutes to end the first half, giving the home side a two-goal advantage heading into the first half break.

Five minutes after recess, Jonathan Nurudeen halved the deficit for the travelling side, which sparked a wave for a comeback.

It wasn’t until Kwame Opoku grabbed a brace, his ninth of the season, his side’s third on the day, to dim any harbored hopes of a comeback from the visiting team.

Nigerian import, Wisdom Fernando Bassey, added the icing on the cake, his first goal for the club since he joined the club this season.

The results send Kotoko to 4th on the log with 54 points, while Dreams FC will be on 9th with 43 points.
