Kotoko made light work of Karela United when the pair met at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The home team switched attention from their continental assignment, as they were badly bruised beyond recognition by Moroccan powerhouse Wydad Athletic Casablanca by 6-1 over two legs.

The Kumasi-based club needed to make amends, and what a way to respond as they secured all three points at home in emphatic fashion.

Saaka Dauda teed up Hubert Gyau for the opening goal as early as the 8th minute.

Lord Amoah also laid on the plate for the youngster 15 minutes later, who delivered a perfect thunderbolt beyond the reach of Daniel Afadzwu. The goal sent the whole stadium into ecstasy.

In what looked like a perfect stroll in the park, Bless Ege was caught between goalkeeper Mohammed Camara and Henry Ansu, with the referee awarding a penalty for the away side.

Bless Ege, who has scored three penalties in 7 games and already elected himself to score, offering the visitors a lifeline.

Seth Kwadwo and Peter Amidu scored for Kotoko, while Abdul Rahman Yaya scored deep in the game for Karela United, but it came a little too late.

Kotoko will build on this victory as they face Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, November 8, 2025.
