Newly promoted side, Hohoe United, bagged their first win of the campaign with a resounding victory over Karela United at the Hohoe Sports Stadium on Sunday, October 5, 2025.

The two teams came into the duel with contrasting forms after three games in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League.

It was the home team that ensured that their superiority counted as they were rewarded with two first-half goals from William Oduro and skipper Usman Sufianu.

Oduro capitalized on a Karela blunder to break the deadlock in 19 minutes, and Sufiani doubled their lead in the 35th minute.

Bless Ege scored from the spot to halve the deficit for the Pride and Passion on 75 minutes, but Sufianu netted his second to restore the hosts’ two-goal advantage.

Sena Ati struck in the 88th minute to put the game beyond Karela, who had been brilliant until this game.

Hohoe will hope to build on this gallant display as they travel away to Nations FC.
