    Hearts of Oak secured a win over former Ghana Premier League champions, Samartex at the Accra Sports Stadium.

     



    Before the game, the host was winless against the visiting team in two previous meetings at the same venue since 2023.

    The Phobians had conceded a single goal in their last four games, following two wins and two draws. (2W2D).

    Samartex, on the other hand, had just won a single game, which came against Legon Cities, on their last five away trips.

    The first half ended goalless with both teams creating several chances in the game.

    Konadu Yiadom poked the Phobians into the lead on the 59th-minute mark to send the home fans into ruptures.

    Coach Aboubakar Outtara effected several changes taking off Mohammed Hussein, Raphael Amponsah, and Kwabena Boateng for Martin Karikari, Oppong Afranie, and Stephen Appiah Asare for the final quarter of the game.

    The home side held on to secure their first victory against Samartex in three attempts.
