Raphael Amponsah’s solitary strike for Hearts of Oak proved pivotal as they beat Medeama SC at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Phobians were coming into the game with a bad patch of form, winless in four games. This stretch of poor results mounted incensed pressure on the head coach Abubakar Outtara who was in dire need of a win to change the outlook of the team’s recent standings.

Coach Tanko and his charges gave the game a real goal as they managed 14 shots with four on target in the game.

The return of BlackStars goalie Benjamin Asare in between the sticks gave the home side an assured defensive calmness as he saved them on several counts with multiple saves toward the end of the game.
