GoldStars and Hearts of Oak played a thrilling 1-1 draw game at a packed Duns Park.

Both managers named a rather tough lineup for the task ahead. For the home side, it was an opportunity to cushion their title challenge this season.

The visitors, on the other hand, were looking to avert the trend of two consecutive losses suffered against Dreams FC and Bechem United.

The first half flew by with no goals. The second half started with lots of intensity, with each side probing for the win.

In the 57th minute, the home side was adjudged a penalty only to be ruled out by the referee Foster Bastiours after several consultations with his linesman, which didn’t sit well with the home supporters but the security on duty marshaled their expertise to calm the home fans.

The game’s sanity was restored and with quarter-to-end proceedings, Gideon Anaba’s penalty put the home side in front.

Stephen Appiah Asare scored his debut league goal for Hearts in the second minute of stoppage time.
