Mawuli Wayo’s second-half goal was enough for Hearts of Oak to beat Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park.

Fresh from their weekend loss against Kotoko in the MTN FA Cup semi-finals, the home side was looking to bounce back to winning ways, which saw the head coach, Samuel Boadu, name a strong starting lineup against the Phobians.

The first flew past, with no goals separating the two outfits, much to the disappointment of the home fans, who were in high spirits and hoping for the breakthrough.
Nine minutes after the break, Hearst of Oak top goal scorer, Mawiuli Wayo, was on hand to break the deadlock for the travelling side, a goal that sends his tally to seven in twenty-five games for the club since transferring from GoldStars ahead of the new season.

The result means Berekum Chelsea is winless in its last three games in all competitions as it travels to the capital to face Dreams FC, who were battered beyond recognition by Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
