Aduana Stars basked in glory in a momentous win over Asante Kotoko at the Agyemang Badu I park in Dormaa on Sunday.

The topliner for the weekend had loads of tension surrounding it before the game with both sets of teams looking to get one over each other at the end of match proceedings.

The host made their early dominance count as they led through Kelvin Obeng but the visitors were rewarded with a penalty which was converted by striker Steven Mukwala just before the halftime to set the tone for the second half.

Both teams drilled each other for the match-winner but it was a goal from Richard Mahama that drew lots of tension after the ball failed to cross the line the match officials thought otherwise deeming it an outright goal and the match-winner for the host.

The second goal didn’t sit down well with, Kotoko’s coach Prosper Ogum vividly demonstrated his displeasure to the match officials and was sent off as a result.

The win sees the Ogya boys ascend third on the log, three points adrift, Samartex at the top of the log while Kotoko slipped down to seventh place on the league log.
