    Hearts of Oak lost the plot at home to Accra Lions in game week twenty-eight of the ongoing Ghana Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium. 



    The host after falling away Legon Cities was looking forward to an improved performance and results.

    This forced the hand of Ciach Aboukar to ring several changes to his starting berth, goalkeeper, Kwesi Nketia making his debut, Oppong Afrane returned to the lineup after weeks on the sidelines to partner captain Kofi Agbesimah, Michael Ampadu, and Dennis Korsah formed the backline, Otanga, Salim Adams, Amakwa Baafi in midfield, Linda Mtange, Salifu Ibrahim and Hmaza Issah in the attack. 

    The first half ended in a goalless stalemate with the two sides failing to find the back of the net.

    Ten minutes after recess,  Issah Ibrahim put the visitors in front much to the delight of the away fans in the stands after a breathtaking counter-attacking football pouncing on a delightful cutback from teammate, Daniel Awuni. 

    Accra Lions held on resolutely to bag their first win over the Phibians in six attempts in the league. 

    The loss will be the host’s fifth in six games under current coach Ouutatara Abubakar.

    Hearts of Oak are 12th on the log with 35 points while Accra Lions are up to 3rd and will play Aduana Stars at home in the next fixture of the league.
