The defending champions of the Ghana Premier League, Samartex  have not found life rosy as they would have relished for the 2024/2025 season.

The timber boys are 9th with 27 points in the ongoing league a feat they would have anticipated much better if they had started the league phase well but as things stand they would have to play above their weight level to get their campaign back on track.

This week they host Kotoko in one of the highly anticipated games in the league. They are unbeaten in their last five games (2W 3D), a stat they would want to better this weekend at Samreboi.

Kotoko are still reeling from the pain of losing their beloved supporter, Nana Pooley as disclosed by their head coach Prosper Ogun Narteh. They will use every opportunity at their disposal to honor their dearly departed by winning the 2024/2025 Ghana Premier League for him but it won’t come cheap.

The Porcupine Warriors have racked as many as 12 points from 9 games which makes them tough customers playing away from home.

They sit at the apex of the league with 37 points from 20 league games. They are the highest scoring side in the league with 23 goals. Kwame Opoku and Albert Amoah have contributed to half of the club’s goals.

This game holds a lot of significance for both teams. Since, 2022 games between the pair have always been to the advantage of the Reds, winning four from five games.
