The Mantse derby came earlier than usual with fans expected to troop into the Accra Sports Stadium to provide the necessary support and morale for their respective clubs in match week two of the Ghana Premier League 2022/23 season.

Accra Hearts of Oak have not started the season on a bright note like they would have expected, they have managed to pick only a win in their last five games in the league, something, they will quickly want to remedy coming up against one of their fiercest rivals, Great Olympics.

Last season, the Phobians were unable to see off the Dade boys, losing by 4 goals in two games that the pair played in Accra, a feat they will most likely be buoyed to play above their weight levels to make a case for the league title.

For Great Olympics, they started the season well, beating off stiff competition from one of the league’s hopefuls, Bechem United was a big statement they chalked in their first outing in the league.

In the absence of Annor Walker, who has since joined the newly promoted side, Samartex with Yaw Preko stepping up to the bigger role, they will certainly fancy their chances against the Phobians, knowing very well, that stats from last season sways in their favor.

The Wonder boys, in their last five games against Hearts, have managed to 3 wins and a draw, which would certainly present them with loads of confidence heading into the top liner for the weekend.

Predictions: Hearts of Oak 2-1 Great Olympics
