Accra Lions redeemed themselves after a poor run off form by thumping current league leaders, Aduana Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The host were coming into this game on the back off losing their last three consecutive games and with things looking dire for the Ibrahim Tanko and his lads they needed to switch things up which they did in empathic fashion at home.

Baba Salifu Apiiga’s expertly executed free kick took a wicked deflection off Anokye Badu to shot the host into the lead in the twenty-eight minute of the game to set the tone for the keenly contested game to end the first half.

In the second half, both teams went head-to-head but it was a swiftly crafted pass from Accra Lions’ Solomon Oppong to the skillfully diminutive Evans Botchway, who wiggled past two Aduana Stars players to shoot beyond the reach off goalkeeper, Joseph Addo for the second goal of the game.

Salifu Apiiga who gave his side the first goal of the game combined effortlessly with Evans Botchway to whip in a sweet delivery into the box finding Seidu Basit for the games third on the night.

This win marks, Accra Lions’ second win in eight games, their first in four games which sees them up to 7th on the league log with 44 points whiles the Ogya boys will be dreading their first heavy loss of the season on the back of going five games without a win in the ongoing betPawa Premier League.
