Ghana’s Black Queens delivered a soccer punch to Tanzania in a five-goal thriller in the ongoing 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The Queens needed the win badly to cement their places in the next stage of the competition after they picked up a loss and a draw in the opening two games of the group games.

Princella Adubea was lucky to have the ball ricochet off her after a poor clearance from the Tanzanian goalkeeper, Najat Idrisa, for the opening goal of the game.
Tanzania equalized through Stumai Athumani after a well-sequenced free kick.

After the resumption of the second half, the Black Queens were handed a lifeline as Alice Kusi scored the second goal through a penalty kick in the 63rd minute of the game.

Evelyn Badu made her presence count just 12 minutes after her introduction for the third goal of the game.
Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah, who is enjoying her debut campaign with the team, put the game beyond reach of the Tanzinians.
The Black Queens have set up a frantic quarter-final pairings against Algeria, slated for July 19.
