Ghana midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has revealed ambitions of securing a place in the Blackstars squad ahead of the World Cup berth in Qatar later this year.

The enterprising midfielder who was ruled out of season for his Belgium-based club Anderlecht in the final embers of the season disclosed how it would be an opportunity of realizing a childhood dream of playing for the country at the highest stage, the World Cup.

The 24-year-old, who has been knocking hard on the Blackstars’ door didn’t make the squad for the Kirin tournament in Japan but will be hoping there’s still enough time to get a call-up to the national team.

“I am fully Ghanaian, I support the Blackstars, I won’t turn down an opportunity of playing for the team, will appreciate them calling me to come and play for them”

“It’s in every footballer’s plans, you have to earn it, you have to put in more hard work, i will make sure i can do what I can do” he told JoyNews

Ashimeru has a blistering campaign in Belgium in which he was involved in 6 goals contribution in 31 games for Anderlecht.
