Liverpool player Diogo Jota and his brother, Andre Silva, have been confirmed dead by police in Spain in a fatal car crash on Thursday, July 3, 2025.
The pair were said to be travelling from Portugal through Spain to catch a ferry on the northern side to the United Kingdom after he underwent a lung surgery earlier in the month.

Jota got married to his lifelong partner Rute Cardoso whom the pair has three children, on June 22, 2025, in a beautiful wedding ceremony back home.
He won the English Premier League with Liverpool and the Nations League with Portugal against Spain.

It’s unclear what led to the accident, but reports suggest a tire burst and overspeeding could be the possible factors leading to the death of the two footballers.
The Portuguese international scored 65 goals in 182 games for the Reds.
