We lacked focus – Lawrence Agyekum on Kotoko draw

The Sogakope Red Bull Arena witnessed one of the weekend’s exciting fixtures between WAFA and the record holders of the Ghana Premier League, Kumasi Asante Kotoko in a contest that would eventually see both sets of clubs share the spoils at the end of match proceedings.

The home side got their noses in front through the deadly inform forward Daniel Lomotey in the 10th minute before Kotoko equalized through Kwame Poku in the second half to see the game end 1-1.

However, one of WAFA’s promising midfield chap, Lawrence Agyekum attributed his side’s inability to finish off Kotoko was due to lack of focus.

“It was a great game. We had dominance in the first half which led us to a goal, but unfortunately for us during the second half, we kind off lost focus immediately after the first half break and the Kotoko team got the opportunity to equalize.

We tried so many efforts scoring another goal which was denied by the away side. ” he told Saharafootball.net

The home side dominated the full throttle of the first half, beautifully stringing multiple passes across the length and breadth of the pitch, holding up possession to the admiration of fans present but all come to null when they were unable to preserve that solitary lead which was equalized.

Meanwhile, Agyekum is confident about their chances as they travel away to Ebusua Dwarfs over the weekend in what promises to be an interesting fixture in week ten of the ongoing Ghana Premier League.
