Asante Kotoko’s Interim Management Committee (IMC) has debunked widespread reports of the intended sacking of head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum.

The Porcupine Warriors have not had the best of fortunes since the start of the second start of the second-round campaign of the Ghana Premier League (GPL).

The former Ghana Premier League champions have lost five out of their last season games in the league which has heightened immense pressure on the technical team led by Prosper Ogum.

Their recent home loss at the hands of Bechem United saw a host of displeased fans booing the head coach while he was leaving the stadium following the home loss to regional rivals. Nations FC.

But in a sharp turn of events, the IMC of the club has shown immense solidarity and support for their title-winning coach by releasing a statement.

    The statement reads as follows:

“Head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum remains at the post, contrary to speculations about his imminent dismissal,” the statement read.

“The IMC acknowledges the concerns raised by our cherished supporters regarding our current situation. It must be placed on record that management is equally not enthused with our results and deems it unacceptable. However, the IMC is committed to ensuring that there is a quick turnaround in our current fortunes.

“In our quest to achieve this, various steps have been taken, including an emergency meeting with the coaching staff and not the dismissal of the head coach.

“We therefore urge our fans and all stakeholders to remain calm and continue to support our club in these turbulent times.” It ended.
