    Kofi Agbesimah to lead Hearts of Oak as new captain

    Accra Hearts of Oak has bestowed the club’s captaincy mantle on defender Kofi Agbesimah.



    Ivorian trainer, Coach Aboubakar Ouattara rang the changes to bring stability, renewed leadership, and success back to the once-Oak club.

    Agbesimah, who joined the former Ghana Premier League club from Bechem United takes over the captain’s armband from the departed, Gladson Awako.

    The club will hope to tap into his assured defending abilities, and leadership to restore the club to its glory days now that been named as the new club captain.  

    The 26-year-old has made 18 appearances for the club in the ongoing campaign.

    In light of this new development, goalkeeper Richard Attah and defender Kelvin Osei Asibey back the new captain as the first and second deputy skippers respectively.

    Hearts of Oak will take on Bofoakwa Tano in the next fixture of the Ghana Premier League at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
