Full statement:

“We have been notified with shock and disbelief that Hearts of Oak have announced the signing of our player Dominic Eshun without our consent,” a statement issued read

“Karela United Football Club would like to put it on record that the club has not been approached; neither has it reached an agreement with Hearts over the transfer of the player.

“We view the latest action by Hearts as repulsive and sickening and betray the professionalism mantra being preached by the club.

“For the avoidance of doubt, we wish to assure our teeming supporters that the player has a running contract with the club which expires on November 30, 2019.

“Therefore Hearts of Oak’s dealing with the player is illegal and will refer them to the appropriate authorities.

“We find the conduct of Hearts of Oak shocking, horrendous and epitomizes the low crass professionalism exhibited by the club regarding this matter.

“Hearts are in direct breach of FIFA rules regarding player transfer policy and therefore the club will take appropriate action against the club and the player.

“In an era where Ghana football is being normalised, this illegal signing is the least we expect from fellow clubs.

“We urge our fans to remain calm as we mourning our departed Chief Executive David Cobbina Brigidi.”
