Karela United refund GHc 50,000 Sarfo Taylor transfer fee

Management of Asante Kotoko has reached an agreement with Karela United in the dispute over the failed acquisition of player, Solomon Sarfo Taylor.

The Porcupines moved for the striker and made a payment of GHc 50, 000 to the Anyinasi-based Premier League club in that regard.

Sarfo Taylor signed contract documents but failed to turn up in Kumasi. Karela United, on the other hand, also refused to release the player and later transferred him to a Danish club.

Kotoko Management did not block the move but served notice that it will take the issue to the appropriate quarters for redress.

Head of Administration and Legal Affairs, Lawyer Samuel Sarfo Duku tells Kotoko Express App the issue has been resolved.

“We have settled the differences between us and Karela United”, confirms Sarfo Duku. “They rendered an unqualified apology to us and we accepted it. They have also refunded the GHc 50, 000 we paid them for the transfer of the player”.

Sarfo Duku explains that the decision not to stretch the issue any further is borne out of the good relationship Kotoko have with Karela United and the fact they did not want to put any impediments in the player’s career.
