Karela United are considering withdrawing from the Special Competition as they are not happy with the latest competition rules and format.

A source close to the club told Sahara Football that Karela United are concerned about the new one-off semi-final game, venue and revenue sharing which was not stated in the newly revised regulations of the competition.

The source also confirmed that the club have sent a formal letter to the Normalization Committee to explain and air their concerns; the letter was sent on Friday 31st of May.

When asked what actions the club will take if they don’t get a reply from the Normalization Committee, our source stated that they will send another letter on Thursday 7th of June to remind them of the first letter. He added that they will definitely withdraw from the competition if the Normalization Committee refuses to attend to their concerns.

Karela United are supposed to face Ashantigold in the Semi-finals of the Tier-one Special Competition.

Asante Kotoko officially withdrew from the semi-finals of the Tier-one of the Special Competition on Tuesday morning after the Normalization Committee refused to change the format and revenue sharing of the competition.
