Ghana international Joseph Aidoo made a long-awaited return to the field over the weekend as Celta Vigo secured a 3-2 victory over Osasuna in the Spanish La Liga.
The central defender had been away with a hamstring injury since May and was included in the travelling squad for the game against Osasuna.
Coach Claudio Giraldez handed Aidoo a starting berth alongside Manuel Fernandez and Marcos Alonso in defense.
Ferran Jutgla opened the scoring for the visitors on the 26th minute mark, but they were pegged by two quick goals from Croat international Ante Budimir.
Ferran Jutgla was back on the score sheet to level things up, and 24-year-old Pablo Duran rounded off the win with a well-curated finish for Celta.
Aidoo has suffered numerous injuries in the past, including an anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained while playing for the Black Stars in October 2023.
Now back in action, the 28-year-old will be hoping to secure more game time at the club level as the World Cup looms.
