Ivory Coast to host maiden Wafu Zone B qualification tournament for African Schools tournament

Ghana will be represented by students from Offinso College of education JHS and Maakro M/A JHS in the maiden edition of the competition in Ivory Coast.


The two schools were crowned winners of the U-16 inter school-based competition held from July 19th to Saturday July 23rd in the Ashanti region, Kumasi.

The two schools will represent Ghana and compete for a place to participate in the first ever CAF African Schools Championship.

This competition is part of the numerous initiatives by the new leadership of CAF, under Dr. Patrice Motsepe. The plan is to develop football at the juvenile level across the continent

Togo, Niger, Burkina Faso, Benin and host nation, Ivory Coast are the other five teams that make up Zone B. The competition will be for both males and females.


The aim of this competition is to help identify and development talents at the grassroot level and also promote education.
