The Black Stars returned to winning ways with a 1-0 win over Nicaragua. Issahaku’s 35th-minute strike was enough to secure Ghana the win.

Head Coach Otto Addo made some notable changes to the team that lost 3-0 against Brazil on last Friday. Salisu and Inaki Williams were handed their first starts as Black Stars players.

Richard Ofori returned to the goalpost after missing out in the match against Brazil. Gideon Mensah, Seidu, Issahaku, Kyere, and Bukari were all handed starts.

The team controlled the game from the first half and missed many glorious chances. Nicaragua had zero shots on target in the first half, leaving Richard Ofori to have a free day.

Fatawu Issahaku powered Ghana into the lead with a well-taken curler from the box to mark his debut goal for the Black Stars. The stars continued to dominate.  A swift move between Bukari, Inaki, and Kudus found the back of the net but was offside.

German-born Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer was handed his debut after replacing the Issahaku the goal scorer in the 82nd minute of the game.

Kofi Kyere was very lively in the match as he controlled and bossed the midfield in the absence of vice-captain, Thomas Partey.  kudus continued his great form with sleek dribbles and passes.

They struggled to find Inaki on several occasions after he made very sweet runs into the box.

Ghana play next Switzerland as the last match before the start of the Qatar 2022 World Cup. Otto Addo and His boys are hoping to make a meaningful at the biggest world stage
