GFA Communications Director,  Henry Asante Twum has cited injuries as part of reasons Black Stars coach Otto Addo gave for not qualifying for AFCON 2025.

According to him, after Black Stars exit, coach Addo’s report detailed why the team failed to qualify for the AFCON 2025.

He stated a number of reasons with injuries, match fitness, and others as our inability to qualify for the tournament.

Speaking to Sporty FM, he disclosed why the BlackStars couldn’t make it to the competition according to Otto’s report.

He said “When Otto Addo submitted his report to the GFA, he mentioned injuries, pre-game conditions, match fitness and even his own decisions sometimes played a major role in arriving at the results,” Henry Asante Twum, GFA Communications Director.

BlackStars was housed in a group that had Angola, Sudan and Niger.

In the end, BlackStars finished bottom of the group and failed to win a single game.

Coach Otto Addo will hope to inspire belief as the team prepares for the crucial World Cup qualification duels in March 2025 against Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium
