Former Hearts of Oak midfielder Salifu Ibrahim is close to switching nationality to Benin.

Salifu left Hearts of Oak some two seasons ago to join FC Drita in Kosovo and has been a consistent performer for the club.

He was pivotal in aiding FC Drita in winning the Kosovo league.

The diminutive playmaker was the toast of many fans in the Ghana Premier League, where he led Hearts of Oak to the treble under coach Samuel Boadu.

It’s said that Salifu’s family roots give him the opportunity to play for Ghana’s neighbors on the right side of the geographical map.

Benin will be at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations alongside DR Congo, Senegal, and Botswana in Group D.
