After twelve years in the wilderness without a Ghana Premier League trophy, Accra Hearts of  Oak have finally liberated itself from its trophy setback.

This year, like former years, the capital-based club like any other of the big clubs(Kotoko, Medeama SC, AshGold) in the league held a long-standing ambition to winning the most coveted Ghana Premier League trophy at the end of the season.

The club will start its campaign on a rather difficult patch but a mixture of circumstances will see strategic decisions made on behalf of the club by Togbe Afede XIV, which will yield positive results at the end of the day.

Samuel Boadu comes in from another competing club, Medeama SC, who in the last two seasons when the league was truncated were at the summit of the table.

His appointment will see a new wave in camp with players playing wholeheartedly to his tactics and systems deploying a 4-2-3-1/4-3-3 varied in matches, seeing first-team players sprung back to life after dormancy.

The amazing thing about Boadu’s team is how all the players carried each other at their backs in every way possible, every player has discharged their duties above normal weight levels, in defence bar any injuries or suspension you were sure to see Fatau, Alhassan, Addo Sowah, Ovouka in the mix.

The midfield is where all the juicy deals were made with Emmanuel Nettey partnering Afutu-Kotey, who sat at the base of the defence with the new import Ibrahim Salifu given the license to operate and make all the magic happen for the team.

K.Obeng Junior, Victor Aidoo interchangeably led the lines for the team with support from Afcon winner Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, Patrick Razak/Isaac Mensah.

Accra Hearts of Oak joins a growing list of clubs elsewhere on the globe, Inter Milan(Italy), Rangers(Scotland), Sporting Lisbon (Portugal), who have labored and toiled for so many league triumphs but were finally rewarded after year’s of hard work, perseverance, and commitment.

Hopefully, this league victory unites the Phobia fraternity in diverse ways to bring the once famed club its glory days.
