Hearts of Oak crushed Berekum Chelsea 4–0 at the University of Ghana Stadium.
John Antwi scored a first-half brace (4th and 37th minutes). Debutant Kader Mahmoud (or Mamadou Kourouma in some reports) added a late third, and Ali Mohammed converted a stoppage-time penalty.
Newly promoted Debibi United earned a memorable 2–2 draw against Asante Kotoko at Golden City Park in Berekum. Dogo Yakubu gave Kotoko an early lead, but Richard Owusu’s second-half brace put the hosts ahead. Hubert Gyau scrambled a late equaliser for the Porcupine Warriors.
There was nothing to choose from between Hearts of Lions and Aduana Stars.
