Accra Hearts of Oak secured a thumping win over  Berekum Chelsea on Friday at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

The game ended 3-1 in favor of the host.

The Phobians bruised from the away loss to Kotoko a fortnight ago was briskly in search of a compensating win over their guest.

Emmanuel Sarpong got the first chance of the game to put the visitors in front but he scuffed that golden opportunity in the early minutes of the game.

The host found the back of the net through, Ramzay Yussif in the first half.

Upon recess both teams created a myriad of chances but it was Hearts of Oak’s last season top goal scorer, Hamza Issah, who made fair use of a pass to slot one past Gregory in post for Berekum Chelsea.

The away side found hope of a come back through, Emmanuel Sarpong’s header in the 62nd minute.

Hearts turned the game on its head for their guest as Kwabena Boateng finished off a well-curated pass from Hamza Issah to score the third on the night for his side.

The win puts them on 5th whiles Samuel Boadu and his boys slip to 9th on the log.
