    Hearts of Oak coach Slavko Matic apply for Ghana Black Stars job

    Slavko Matic, the head coach of Hearts of Oak, has tendered in his application for the vacant Black Stars head coaching vacancy according to circling local reports.



    Following Coach Otto Addo’s resignation from the head coach role position, it has seen lots of coaches expressing interest in taking up the role. 

    Some notable coaches such as Kwesi Appiah, Thomas Tuchel, Dragan Stojkovic, Tom Saintfiet, Paolo Bento, and Chris Hughton have expressed interest in taking up the position.

    The GFA is racing against time to select a candidate for the position by the end of January 2023 ahead of the Black Stars’ upcoming assignment in March in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifications, the Ghana FA.



    Since Slavko Matic was appointed as coach of the capital-based club, he has overseen ten games, winning five, drawing four, and losing one as a result. 

    The GFA and the Sports Ministry will collaborate efforts in order for a new coach to be appointed for the side. 

    In a related development, Saharafootball.net understands that former Brighton manager, Chris Hughton has the backing of some high officials within the GFA facets to be named the next coach of the BlackStars.
