    Yaw Baafi’s last-gasp goal for Hearts of Oak against Bechem United aided them to escape the claws of relegation in the just-ended 2023/2024 Ghana Premier League season.


    The Phobians went into the game knowing very well that anything short of a win against Bechem United would see them relegated.

    The game started with loads of frenetic energy and pace, but the home side missed notable players such as Samuel Osei Kuffour and Emmanuel Ababbio through suspension, Emmanuel Annor (injury), and Clinton Dudou was unavailable for selection.

    Emmanuel Owusu put the host ahead in the 29th minute to send the home side into a frenzy.
    Three minutes later, former Behchem United captain Kofi Agnesimah connected beautifully to a Martin Karkari corner from the right side to equalize.
    After the second half, Bismark Edjeodji put the home side back into the lead to further deepen the woes of the traveling club moments later the returning Osei Asibey leveled things up for the former league champions.

    Crucially, Yaw Baafi scored the match-winner to aid the Phobians steal the victory at the dearth of the game in a five-goal thriller.
