    Two of the biggest franchise in Ghana football, Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko carried their impressive domestic form in the ongoing league into the MTN FA Cup when they put their respective opponents, Windy Professionals and Thunderbolt FC to the sword progressing to the round of 16 bar other Premier League outfits, Karela United and  WAFA, who were left to rue their chances after they were booted out of the competition.
